Portrait Photography FAQ
What is your availability?
I am available most weekends and select evenings depending on the type of session you are interested in. Please allow 2-4 weeks for scheduling. All holiday sessions are completed prior to November 30th. Please note I am unavailable December 1st until January 2nd every year.
When do I pay for my session?
Your session payment is due at the time of your session. Electronic payments such as Apple Pay, Pay Pals, Venmo and cash are excepted for payment.
How do I get my photos?
Once I am done editing your photos, I will send you an email with a link and password to a viewing site that is open for 30 days. You are able to view the photos, and also download the high-resolution photos right from the viewing site to your computer. I highly recommend you back the photos up to an external hard drive. You will also be able to download a free app called, Photo Moments to your phone or tablet. You will be able to view, save and share your gallery.
How many photos should I expect from my session?
Each session is different so it is difficult to say exactly how many photos will be produced. Keep in mind I take more photos than needed since I know there will be blinks, blurry photos, people not looking at me, etc. I careful go through each session pull the best photos for your collection. Typically you can expect 30-40 total photos.
Can I have a sneak peek of my session?
I am more than happy to offer a sneak peek of your session on my Facebook Fan Page and Instagram Page. If we aren’t friends on Facebook already, I recommend you friend request me so I tag you in the photos and of course “like” my page.
When will my photos be done?
The time of year determines my turn around time, but you can expect typically 3 weeks after your session. If you need your photos sooner, please ask me about my rush service.
Do you offer indoor photography?
Yes, I offer indoor photography on a limited basis. I am able to offer certain types of indoor sessions in my client’s home such as a newborn lifestyle session. If you interested in an indoor session that includes adults or more of a traditional family session, I recommend we look at a public location like the Guthrie Theater.
My best friend has a really nice camera and wants to be at the session to take some photos. Is that ok?
I have strict “no camera” rule, other than my own. The more people involved in the shoot, the less natural it becomes. And if a child is in a room/area with someone they already know with a camera, guess where they will be looking?
My mother, mother-in-law and neighbor want to be at the session. Is that ok?
In order to develop a rapport with a child or children, I ask that only the people that must be present are present. The more people at the shoot, the more the dynamic changes and the less organic the photos will be. It is human nature to ask child to smile and the more voices a child hears, the more likely I am to end up with photos of child looking puzzled by everyone giving direction.
